Baltimore Sun Awards 2020 Top Workplace to WebMechanix

The Baltimore Sun recognized WebMechanix as #24 out of 95 in the Small Employers category.

The Baltimore Sun announced the winners of its 2020 Top Workplaces award, and Maryland-based digital marketing agency WebMechanix made the list for its third year in a row.

On average, only 31% of employees report that their workplace engages them in meaningful ways, whereas Top Workplace winners see an average of 58% engagement.

WebMechanix published a video to give viewers a glimpse into its workplace culture:

Luke Gracie, Director of Client Services at WebMechanix, commented on the award. “I’ve always felt very fortunate to be part of a company—no, family—that’s filled with such dedicated, smart, helpful, ego-free talent. Special is the only word that does justice to describe WebMechanix. It feels great to be officially recognized for what the team is building here.”

2020 marks WebMechanix’s 11th year in business and of consistent revenue and employee growth, having created 18 new jobs this year despite the economic fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic. To help its employees cope with the pandemic, WebMechanix has provided unlimited paid time off, an accessible remote work environment, virtual happy hours, a virtual Halloween contest, and a socially distant food drive and picnic.

“I knew, being a client of WebMechanix for over three years, that the team was something truly special,” said Paige Dearing, former Senior Marketing Director at Philanthropy U and now Account Director at WebMechanix. “They always felt like a well-oiled extension of my marketing team at PhilU. They were smart, driven, and communicative. When I decided to make a career move to be closer to home, WebMechanix topped my wishlist. Now, being part of the team for three months, I can say that working here is everything I hoped it’d be— and more!”

In November 2020, WebMechanix extended its Paid Family Leave duration from six weeks to eight to help its employees strike a better work-life balance. With its continued growth and employee benefits—including health, dental, vision, 401K, unlimited PTO, snacks, flexible work schedule, and team-oriented culture—WebMechanix is well poised to win the award again in 2021.

Most newsletters suck...

So while we technically have to call this a daily newsletter so people know what it is, it's anything but.

You won't find any 'industry standards' or 'guru best practices' here - only the real stuff that actually moves the needle.
